"What do I do if my car gets towed?"
When your car gets impounded the first thing you will want to do is identify which police department had your vehicle towed. Their will be a specific set of directions on what you should do, depending on who had your vehicle towed. Here's a break down of the different directions.
Lakewood Police Department
You will need the following: Proof of ownership of the vehicle, a vehicle release form that you receive from the lakewood police department, photo ID, and payment in the form of cash.
The first thing you will want to do is go to the lakewood police department with your proof of ownership for the vehicle. The lakewood police department will issue you a vehicle release form that you will then bring back to Kufner Towing with your photo ID and cash payment.
Ohio State Patrol
You will need to bring the following to Kufner Towing: Proof of ownership of the vehicle, a valid photo ID, and payment in the form of cash.
**If there is a hold on your vehicle you will have to obtain a HP60 release form from the Ohio State Patrol.

Linndale Police Department
The first thing you will need to do is determine if your vehicle is at Kufner Towing or at the Linndale Police Department by verifying with the Linndale PD. If your vehicle is stored at Kufner Towing you will have to obtain a vehicle release form from the Linndale PD before coming to Kufner Towing to pick up your vehicle. When retrieving your vehicle from our facility you will need the following: Vehicle release form Linndale PD, valid photo ID, and payment in the form of cash.
Cleveland Metro Park Rangers
Thing you will need to pick up your vehicle: A valid photo ID, proof of insurance, proof of ownership, and payment for you impound in the for of cash.
** The whole process of picking up your vehicle will take about 10-15 mins. Your vehicle and information will be forwarded to the Cleveland Metro Park Rangers for approval.
Cleveland Police Department
If your vehicle was towed by the Cleveland Police Department YOUR VEHICLE IS NOT AT KUFNER TOWING! You will need to contact the Cleveland PD for impound information.
Private Impounds
If you parked illegally you will see the sign to your left posted. If it has Kufner Towing's name and information that means your vehicle is at Kufner Towing.
To retrieve you vehicle you will need the following: A valid photo ID, proof of ownership of the vehicle and payment in the form of cash for the impound.
All impounds are cash only, and we have an ATM on site for your convenience.
